Verse01

ദൈവമേ! കാത്തുകൊൾകങ്ങു
കൈവിടാതിങ്ങു ഞങ്ങളെ;
നാവികൻ നീ ഭവാബ്ധിക്കോ-
രാവിവൻതോണി നിൻപദം.

Daivamē! Kāttukoḷkaṅṅu
Kaiviṭātiṅṅu ñaṅṅaḷe;
Nāvikan nī bhavābdhikkō-
Rāvivan tōṇi ninpadam.

English meaning

O God, keep us in your care; do not abandon us. You are our navigator across the ocean of existence, and your word is the vessel that carries us.

Verse02

ഒന്നൊന്നായെണ്ണിയെണ്ണിത്തൊ-
ട്ടെണ്ണും പൊരുളൊടുങ്ങിയാൽ
നിന്നിടും ദൃക്കുപോലുള്ളം
നിന്നിലസ്പന്ദമാകണം.

Onnonnāyeṇṇiyeṇṇitto-
Ṭṭeṇṇum poruḷoṭuṅṅiyāl
Ninniṭum dṛkkupōluḷḷam
Ninnilaspandamākaṇam.

English meaning

When all that can be counted has been counted and falls away, awareness remains. May our inner being rest, still and unwavering, in you.

Verse03

അന്നവസ്ത്രാദി മുട്ടാതെ
തന്നു രക്ഷിച്ചു ഞങ്ങളെ
ധന്യരാക്കുന്ന നീയൊന്നു-
തന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു തമ്പുരാൻ.

Annavastrādi muṭṭāte
Tannu rakṣiccu ñaṅṅaḷe
Dhanyarākkunna nīyonnu-
Tanne ñaṅṅaḷkku tampurān.

English meaning

You sustain us with food, clothing, and what we need. You protect us and make our lives blessed; you alone are our refuge and Lord.

Verse04

ആഴിയും തിരയും കാറ്റും-
ആഴവും പോലെ ഞങ്ങളും
മായയും നിൻ മഹിമയും
നീയുമെന്നുള്ളിലാകണം.

Āzhiyum tirayum kāṟṟum-
Āzhavum pōle ñaṅṅaḷum
Māyayum nin mahimayum
Nīyumennuḷḷilākaṇam.

English meaning

May we understand ourselves, appearance, your power, and you through the ocean, its waves, its wind, and its depth: distinct to our sight, yet inseparable.

Verse05

നീയല്ലോ സൃഷ്ടിയും സൃഷ്ടാ-
വായതും സൃഷ്ടിജാലവും
നീയല്ലോ ദൈവമേ, സൃഷ്ടി-
യ്ക്കുള്ള സാമഗ്രിയായതും.

Nīyallō sṛṣṭiyum sṛṣṭā-
Vāyatum sṛṣṭijālavum
Nīyallō daivamē, sṛṣṭi-
Ykkuḷḷa sāmagrīyāyatum.

English meaning

You are the act of creation, the creator, and everything created. O God, you are also the substance from which creation comes.

Verse06

നീയല്ലോ മായയും മായാ-
വിയും മായാവിനോദനും
നീയല്ലോ മായയെ നീക്കി-
സ്സായൂജ്യം നൽകുമാര്യനും.

Nīyallō māyayum māyā-
Viyum māyāvinōdanum
Nīyallō māyaye nīkki-
Ssāyūjyam nalkumāryanum.

English meaning

You are illusion, its maker, and the one who delights in its play. You are also the gracious one who lifts illusion and grants union with you.

Verse07

നീ സത്യം ജ്ഞാനമാനന്ദം
നീ തന്നെ വർത്തമാനവും
ഭൂതവും ഭാവിയും വേറ-
ല്ലോതും മൊഴിയുമോർക്കിൽ നീ.

Nī satyam jñānamānandam
Nī tanne varttamānavum
Bhūtavum bhāviyum vēra-
Llōtum mozhiyumōrkkil nī.

English meaning

You are truth, knowledge, and bliss. You are the present, the past, and the future. When we reflect deeply, even the words we speak are you.

Verse08

അകവും പുറവും തിങ്ങും
മഹിമാവാർന്ന നിൻപദം
പുകഴ്ത്തുന്നു ഞങ്ങളങ്ങു
ഭഗവാനേ! ജയിക്കുക.

Akavum puṟavum tiṅṅum
Mahimāvārnna ninpadam
Pukazhttunnu ñaṅṅaḷaṅṅu
Bhagavānē! Jayikkuka.

English meaning

Your glorious presence fills what is within and what is beyond. We offer our praise to you. Glory to you, O Lord.

Verse09

ജയിക്കുക മഹാദേവ,
ദീനാവനപരായണാ,
ജയിക്കുക ചിദാനന്ദ,
ദയാസിന്ധോ ജയിക്കുക.

Jayikkuka mahādēva,
Dīnāvana parāyaṇā,
Jayikkuka cidānanda,
Dayāsindhō jayikkuka.

English meaning

Glory to the great Lord, devoted to sheltering those in need. Glory to consciousness and bliss. Glory to you, ocean of compassion.

Verse10

ആഴമേറും നിൻ മഹസ്സാ-
മാഴിയിൽ ഞങ്ങളാകവേ
ആഴണം വാഴണം നിത്യം
വാഴണം വാഴണം സുഖം.

Āzhamēṟum nin mahassā-
Māzhiyil ñaṅṅaḷākavē
Āzhaṇam vāzhaṇam nityam
Vāzhaṇam vāzhaṇam sukham.

English meaning

May we all immerse ourselves in the deep ocean of your radiance. May we dwell there always, living in lasting happiness and peace.
